What will I need to provide and bring with me for my dog?
You will need to bring with you enough food for the duration of your dog’s stay unless you opt for us to supply our food at a small additional cost. Any treats that your dog is allowed, your dog’s bed if they use one, grooming aids including shampoo, and any medication that your dog may be using, your dog’s collar and lead. If your dog has any medical insurance, micro-chip number, bring the documentation with you.
Does my dog have to be vaccinated, and would I have to bring proof of this?
Yes it is imperative that your dog must be fully vaccinated and you must provide your vaccinations record upon the trial visit and also for the duration of your dogs stay.
Does my dog have to be treated for worms and fleas?
Yes your dog must be treated for worms and fleas before boarding with us (ideally a few days prior to staying). Frontline flea treatment is recommended and is easily available from your vets.
What dogs will you NOT accept for boarding?
Medium or larger breeds over 12kg, Destructive or aggressive dogs, including bull breeds, Dogs that are not fully socialised with other dogs. Dogs that are not house trained, also we would not accept any dog that sleeps in the outside yard or garden at night. Bitches in season, intact males over 1 year old. Puppy's must have had their booster vaccination 4 weeks before boarding and be house trained.
Do you offer dog collection (pick our dog up from our house and take it to yours)?
No sorry I do not offer this service, you have to make arrangements to get to and from Fern Villa
What if my flight is delayed or I am going to be late collecting my dog?
No worries just phone me ASAP and we shall make alternative collection arrangements, if you are going to be significantly late (later than 9pm) and your dog boards for another night then you would incur additional boarding fees which would be payable upon collection.

What are your booking fees protocols?
Upon your initial meeting with us you would be required to pay a 20% deposit to secure your dogs booking. This deposit would be non-refundable.
Upon your confirmed booking date you would bring your dog to stay with us and pay up front your remaining balance.
What would happen if my dog is ill while I am away?
We will take your dog to the vets and seek medical treatment at your expense. If your local vet is more than 3 miles away we would use our own local vets which is Springfield situated on Moorgate in Rotherham, they offer 24/7 veterinary assistance. Any additional costs would be reimbursed by you upon your return.
Do you offer an additional dog walking service for non-boarding dogs?
No sorry we don’t, we only dedicate our time to the boarding dogs.
Would my dog have to wear a collar?
Yes this is essential; all boarding dogs that come to stay with us wear ID tags with our home address and telephone number.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Our advice would be to book with as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment. You’re welcome to book on short notice; however you must allow time to arrange an initial trial visit with your dog before your date in question,
I have an additional question that isn’t listed on your site as my dog is disabled do you cater for this?
